- Why does this feel so hard sometimes?
- How can I get the behaviours I want in the most supportive ways?
- Why does my child act so differently with different adults?
- How do I hold boundaries without becoming someone I don’t want to be?
- How do we support this child well when the adults involved don’t always agree?
- How do I explain having different rules in different places?
My parenting support is designed for parents, co-parents, step-parents, grandparents, and other caregivers who want practical, thoughtful guidance rooted in connection, emotional intelligence, and real-life family dynamics.

Children are far more likely to grow into calm, capable, respectful teens and then adults when they feel safe, understood, and guided with intention.

Children are far more likely to grow into calm, capable, respectful teens and then adults when they feel safe, understood, and guided with intention.
That does not mean no boundaries.
It does not mean permissiveness.
And it definitely does not mean perfection.
It means learning how to respond in ways that build trust, teach skills, and support growth — while also helping the adults around the child work together more effectively.

As a mom and - more recently - a first-time grandmother, I have done the best I could with the information I've had at the time.
Some of what we did helped shape a confident, kind, thoughtful, amazing person. And some of our choices had less desirable outcomes - no matter how well intentioned we were.
I grew up in a time when parenting often leaned more toward control, compliance, appearances, and keeping feelings tidy than toward connection, having a voice, and emotional safety. That never fully sat right with me, so when I became a parent, I wanted to do things differently.
But like many of us, I sometimes swung too far the other way. I tried so hard to make life easier for my son that, at times, I became too involved and too quick to help.
Now, it's important to me that I continue to learn and grow as a role model and family leader.
With time, reflection, hindsight, and continued learning, I’ve come to understand more clearly what children actually need:
Now, that learning feels even more meaningful.
I want to earn the trust and respect to be a significant adult for my child and my grandchildren..
I want to be helpful without overstepping.
I want to honour my son and daughter-in-law's choices.
And I want to keep supporting families, like yours, move away from tools that used shame, control, or outdated ideas to using strategies rooted in research, psychology, and emotional health..
That is why I do this work.

Because often the goal is not perfect agreement.
It’s steadier support for the child.
